As part of our Life of Faith series, we will be hearing from different people working or volunteering in different sectors across the city.

The Choices of Faith

Sunday 12th January - Dan Roach preaches from Genesis 13. This sermon focuses on Abram's life of faith, highlighting challenges he faced. These challenges included famine and abundance. Abram's responses to these challenges serve as lessons for listeners on where to turn when facing difficulties. The sermon encourages trust in God through all circumstances.

The Call of Faith

Sunday 5th January - Dave Rogers preaches from Genesis 12 exploring the theme of faith, using the biblical story of Abram as a model. The sermon encourages listeners to embrace uncertainty and trust in God's guidance, even in everyday decisions. It highlights the importance of faith as active obedience and a willingness to be a blessing to others and then calls the congregation to embark on a new year of faith-filled adventures, trusting in God's promises and impacting their community.

Christmas 3: The Genealogy of Jesus

Sunday 15th December - Mark Mould preaches from Matthew 1. This sermon explores how the Christmas story offers hope and peace amidst the chaos of the world and personal stress. Mark explains how Matthew's genealogy of Jesus connects to Abraham and David as key figures and the events that show God's plan to restore blessing, his presence, and the world as He intended. Jesus is the fulfilment of this plan, bringing peace through His birth.

Sunday 10th December - At our joint evening Carol Service with St Thomas Church, Dan Roach explores the true meaning of peace. Discover how to find peace in a busy and stressful world by looking to the story of the birth of Jesus, the Prince of Peace.

Christmas 1: Light has Shone in the Darkness

Sunday 1st December - Dan Roach preaches from Isaiah 9:1-7. This sermon focuses on the meaning of light in the Christmas story, exploring Isaiah's prophesy about the coming of a child who would be a light in the darkness. It explores how this prophecy was fulfilled in Jesus Christ and the impact of his birth on the world, encouraging listeners to reflect on their own experiences with darkness and to find hope and joy in the light of Christ.

The Doxology

Sunday 24th November - Dave Rogers rounds off our year long series in Romans preaching from the doxology Romans 16:25-27. He explores the end of Romans, a letter written 2,000 years ago that is still bursting with wisdom for us today. The sermon focuses on how the gospel establishes us, reveals God's plan for salvation, and calls us to worship and mission. It also emphasises that this message is for all nations, encouraging radical inclusivity in the church.

Final Greetings

Sunday 17th November - Dan Roach preaches from Romans 16:1-24 and how
it represents a wonderful community of diverse people united in Christ. The sermon explores the importance of working at unity and showing affection for one another to create a church community where everyone feels valued and loved. By loving one another, the church can demonstrate the transformative power of the Gospel to the world.

The Adventure of Following Jesus

Sunday 10th November - Andy Arscott preaches from Hebrews 12:1-2. From Grace Church’s founding pastor (2003), this sermon encourages us to run the race marked out for us by God, explaining there will be challenges, but ultimately it will lead to fulfillment. He emphasizes that faith is essential for pleasing God and urges us to actively demonstrate our love for Jesus by serving the Church.

Passion for Christ is the Fuel of World Mission

Sunday 3rd November - Matthew Skirton, CEO of Operation Mobilisation, shares his personal journey in missions and the importance of God's mission for all people based on Romans 15:14-33. The podcast explores the concept of being commissioned to share the Gospel, inspired by the example of Apostle Paul's passion for Christ. It highlights the need to reach the unreached and encourages listeners to fix their eyes on Jesus, allowing their passion for him to overflow into missions.
